Secretary’s Report
Sophie, alcoholic, and serving as our GROW Secretary. A really rewarding bit of service and I’m grateful to serve GROW. Definitely a “grower” of a role for me personally. This is my in-role learning and reflections;

Last Biz Meeting I had all the rotating roles out advertised to the group ahead of the Biz Meeting. I had created a table with the basic info in, traffic light colour coded the rotating roles with red, yellow, green – red as the harder ones to fill and to be advertised first, yellow as the slightly easier ones to fill and green as the shorter term roles with less sobriety needed and also deemed as the ones we could function (ie hold our weekly meeting) without if necessary.

We didn’t find a new Listkeeper and Susan P stepped forward temporarily which turned into an additional 6 month term for her as she was due to rotate out. We also didn’t find a new Sponsor Listkeeper and Alison S also stepped forward but this meant an additional 6 month term served by Alison. With my 8 year long membership of GROW I’ve seen this pattern of finding service roles hard to fill at times and slightly less so at others but it is a huge challenge to the Secretary. I’ve put forward a couple of ideas as proposals to the Biz Meeting for consideration around this.

There are a lot of emails in the role of Secretary, and I’ve omitted on many occasions to be on top of those, sending out the monthly email etiquette reminder for example and sending out the exact Form Letter for new TS from our website. Partly my own oversight but partly because the coordination of advertising and filling the roles each April and October is a vast job.

In love and service and fellowship
Sophie F May 24th 2000
Serving as our GROW Secretary

Listkeepers’ Report
Wendy D reports that, as one of the Listkeepers, she feels the process is going well. Communication between the trusted servants for the list and the Greeters is extremely important, and the current individuals in these roles have been active in maintaining this communication.
She notes that the most challenging part of the position is preparing the monthly statistics. It is necessary to save all notifications for member removals and additions, and even more important to remember to send out the monthly report.
Wendy concludes by expressing gratitude for her sobriety and for being part of the GROW group.

Greeters’ Report
Theresa B currently serves as the Greeter. Each week, she monitors messages from the list keepers about new members and sends them introductory messages. She welcomes these new members to the group and announces their arrival to the membership. While the responsibilities are not very demanding, the role requires regular monitoring of emails and prompt responses with a form letter to new inquiries. Theresa finds this service rewarding and has enjoyed her time in the position.

Proposal One: Addressing 7th Tradition/Homeline Group

The first proposal for this meeting recommends that an announcement be sent to the GROW group twice a week during the month leading up to the transition to Homegroup.online for the collection of 7th Tradition contributions. The purpose of this proposal is to guarantee that all GROW members are well-informed about the upcoming change to a new platform for contributions. By offering early access to Homegroup.online/grow, the transition process should be smoother, reducing the likelihood of disruptions as the group adapts to the new method.

Results of proposal one are the following:
12 members voted yes
0 no’s.
This means that transitioning to Homeline Group has passed; therefore, the proposal is adopted as a Group Conscience decision.
